Debra Jemison has built a career around helping students, families, and communities move through complex systems with greater support, opportunity, and dignity.
Her professional experience spans educational leadership, program management, student advocacy, family engagement, community partnerships, case management, grant compliance, legal advocacy support, youth development, and foster care.
Most recently, Debra served as METCO Director at Concord-Carlisle High School through 2026. In this leadership role, she directed academic, social-emotional, cultural, and strategic programming for Boston students participating in the Metropolitan Council for Educational Opportunity program.
Her work included developing student-support initiatives, administering program resources, strengthening relationships with families, partnering with educators and administrators, supporting college readiness, and advocating for student needs.
Throughout her tenure with Concord Public Schools, Debra served in multiple student-support and leadership positions, including Academic Liaison, Tutor, Bus Monitor, and METCO Director. Her Bus Monitor position concluded in 2022, and her service as METCO Director concluded in 2026.
Her earlier career includes extensive human-services and program-leadership experience with Aid to Incarcerated Mothers, where she managed programs involving family reunification, legal advocacy, mentoring, reentry support, parenting education, case management, and services for incarcerated women and their children.
She also served for many years as a licensed foster parent, providing care and support to more than 200 adolescent girls and young women.
